Warranty
We sell vans with a one year warranty
At Huntswood Van Centre, we sell all of our retail vehicles with a one year warranty. Unlike many vehicle dealerships that purchase a third-party insurance warranty on the customer’s behalf, our warranty is simply with us. We do not use third-party insurance companies because they tend to reject claims on technicalities and lots of garages refuse to work with them, which complicates the warranty process.
If you buy a vehicle and it develops a fault, we will ask you to either return it to us, or to get a quote at a local garage and we will pay for the repair. If you have any questions about our warranty, please call us on 01753 2672760.
There are two key parts of of our warranty:
1. Mileage limit – our warranty lasts for one year or 7500 miles, whatever comes first.
2. Claim limit – there will be a specified claim limit which is normally £1000 per claim but this may be less if the vehicle is over 10 years old or over 100,000 miles.
Full warranty terms are below.
Length of Warranty
Length of warranty:
1 year
Warranty start date:
The warranty will commence from the invoice date on the first page and will continue for one year upto 6pm on the following years day. For example, if a vehicle is bought on the 6th January 2023, the warranty will last upto 6pm on 6th January 2024.
Mileage limit:
7500 miles – the warranty will be voided once the customer has done 7500 miles from the mileage written on the invoice.
Claim limit per claim:
The dealer will contribute the amount highlighted in green on the first page of the invoice under ‘terms of sale’. If the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds stated amount highlighted in green, the customer agrees to pay the difference between the repair bill and the claim limit, and indemnifies the dealer from responsibility from paying such costs.
Hourly labour cap per claim:
£80 an hour.
Warranty promise:
To give you peace of mind we promise to repair or replace any covered component which suffers unexpected mechanical failure. As our customer you have legal rights under statute when a problem arises and this warranty does not limit those rights. Guidance and further information on your statutory rights may be obtained from your local Trading Standards Office or Citizens Advice.
You will have chosen or agreed certain parameters for your warranty and the limits are specifically listed or covered by the general terms, definitions and exclusions all within this warranty booklet.
